Web Design for Bands:

Scottish Folk Band
Web Design for Bands | Barluath

Barluath are a Scottish folk band based in Glasgow who contacted us after seeing the website we designed for Kristan Harvey.

The band embrace both the traditional and contemporary music of Scotland, Ireland and America, and have received high praise from many about their live performances and their debut CD ‘Source’. Barluath comprises of Ainsley Hamill (lead vocals), Alistair Paterson (keyboards and piano), Colin Greeves (pipes and whistles), Edward Seaman (pipes, whistles and bouzouki) and Eilidh Firth (fiddle).

After meeting for a coffee and a chat, we began working on a new design based on the photography that the band sent over. The photographs were stunning, so I felt it was important that they were displayed very prominently, and decided to opt for a photo slideshow on the homepage which would show the photos off.

It was important for the band to be able to update the website themselves, so the site runs on WordPress, allowing them to add news, shows and any other updates with ease.

The end result is a modern website which I feel represents the contemporary side of what they do. I’m looking forward to hearing what Barluath do next, and I’m really pleased with the response that their website has received so far!

what they say

When we were looking for a web designer, we came across Electric Kiwi and were immediately impressed by the quality of the work that had been done for other musicians’ websites. Ross certainly matched these expectations and moved beyond them to create a unique, but very stylish and functional website for our band. He was a pleasure to work with and we have received so many great comments about our new site. Thanks again!
